About the Art & Artists
Design by Genesia Williams
About the Art: In thinking on this call for submissions, my brain went on a little creative association journey. The idea of 'Pleasure' immediately brought up the word 'Principle' for me. This made me think of the greatest Jackson –Janet, and her second album 'Control' (with the single 'Pleasure Principle'). Control was about a person, coming into theirself. Claiming their space, interpersonally, professionally, artistically, and definitely around the subject of 'Pleasure.' Your theme of "Pleasure Summer" connects to that kind of reclamation of the self, in my mind.
